FIRST 5 partners with the San Jose Public Library to operate Bridge Library locations throughout San Jose – allowing your family to access books and library services right in your community.
What is a Bridge Library?
A Bridge Library provides books, library staff assistance, and library resources to families visiting a FIRST 5 Family Resource Center. San José Public Library librarians host story times and families can access hundreds of children’s books to use onsite or take home.
Books are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and many other languages.
How Does a Bridge Library Work?
Families visiting a FIRST 5 Family Resource Center are encouraged to browse the book collection. Once your family has chosen the books you like, you can simply take them home. There is no formal check-out process.
A library card is not required to check-out books from the Bridge Library. There is no formal due date to return the books and no late fees.
Your family may check out as many books as you would like!
